The ranks are there as a goal to work towards. The point about this is to see how good you are and have a achievement to work towards. Most people don't get 400 kills in a day. The 600k is a reward for the hard work. The bases are there for people to try to break into and get a good fight with. When I play with my friends we look for large long fights not 1-2 minutes and someone leaves. The bases are giant marks for people to raid simply because people will store a lot of stuff that people will quicksell off. I would recommend going to a non kit server if you are looking for bases to build.
