I think 16 hours is to long to change a role. If it isn't 16 hours please correct me that what i heard. When i change my role to something and play for 4 hours and i get bored because you're not participating in the game because no one needs your role, or theirs simply nothing to do. It would be nice to let us change roles atlas ever 3-5 hours. I think others might agree with me.
This is just my opinion. Every one else has a different idea.

I think the idea is that in real life no one changes jobs every like hour so having a long timer on here makes it more like an actual job

It's 24hours between role changes, as Meatball said people don't change their jobs every couple of hours. In real life a cop doesn't change from cop to bandit every couple of days, in my opinion the system is a bit lax when it comes to role changes .
