New rule for police in RP servers.

Lately I have been dealing with a lot of complaints about police officers arresting people outright for having an unlicensed weapon, when it's a lot more realistic, and better to warn them about the fact that their weapon is unlicensed first. I have people getting killed by cops in an arrest that didn't have to happen. Maybe they're not watching the chat, and they don't see the warnings, or they pull a gun out without realizing it, or from panic. Either way, I feel like this situation is only a rung on the ladder below creating a kos zone. I think a rule should be made so that officers absolutely have to give a warning to unlicensed players before making an arrest. For example:

Spencer Tree: Hey Dapper Derpy, warning 1, please go license your weapon(s), or I will arrest you.
Dapper Derpy: Oh, thanks, I didn't realize it was expired, I'll go do that.

I'm Just tired of seeing people use unlicensed weapons as a catch-all to arrest someone because they're bored. being a dick, and saying "well it's not in the rules."

I really think that rule would make roleplay more wholesome and less malicious.

I disagree with you, if someone have a unlicense gun in real life you will not warn him for that you will arrest him.
This is the player responsibility to check if all his guns are license and check when they expire, and if there are not watching chat so that there own problem.
You said from panicking they pull out a gun again there problem. It's the same like saying in real life your getting arrested and from "panicking" you pull out a gun.

First of all this is unturned, not real life. In unturned you can reasonably pull out a gun on accident, I've done it, the RP mods and admins have done it, and you have certainly done it.

Second of all this is unturned, not real life. In real life guns don't pop into existence in certain areas. If a player finds a zubeknakov at Holman Island or the Ranger Outpost (Respective to PEI and Washington) they have to run as fast as their stamina will let them to a gun license area. If at ANY point in ANY area between these locations a cop shows up and decides to be a dick because they're bored, the player just lost their gun a few minutes of time.

Yes the RP servers are there to at least be somewhat realistic, but more important they are there for entertainment.

If I am IN THE PROCESS of obtaining a license for my gun and I get arrested and my gun is "trashed" I'm not going to be having fun.

+1

Being the UnderSheriff I completely agree with this and personally planned on doing this anyways. Players deserves a chance. After all the best way to run a court or judicial system is innocent before guilty.

Speaking of losing guns before they can be licensed me and a buddy were selling guns and three bored children sporting badges ran up, screamed in our faces, stole 7 to 10k worth of guns and arrested my friend before running away with him in their cop car. This is not police behavior this is childish behavior.

There is a difference between a player that is on his way to buy a license to for example a player that I always see without license.
From my point sometimes I will give warnings sometimes I will not it's depend on the situation

Not all the cops are "mature" there is some cops that don't know to deal with situations correctly that true

That is exactly the attitude most players think corrupt cops have, and they're not wrong.

Bro give everybody a chance, write their name down and if you see them the same again then book em.

And those children with badges who ran up to us, took our 10k of guns and jailed my friend? I was a weaponsmith selling them off the side of our APC (Something I was specifically given permission to do by the mod Josh) my friend was an armorsmith. We were working on getting another friend on to be a chef for us. That way we could sell guns, clothes, and food to the public all while on the move. All of the guns and clothes and food were in metal racks to prevent theft. We always informed anybody buying a gun that they should run down to a gun store and purchase a license, if they didn't we would be held accountable for their lack of license.

We were traveling salesmen selling valuable things to players and our APC got stuck in a rut and had to be carjacked out (It's also worth noting we didn't have a carjack) The children came, screamed at us for having guns, arrested my friend and refused to talk to me. They released my friend without his weapons after threatening him randomly with charges of player disrespect and kicked him out of the "jail" on the hill. Together we ran back to our APC, they secretly followed us and the moment we reached the APC (We still had guns on the side of it) said "Oh you're still here eh? Mind giving us the rest of those guns before we arrest you?"

By this time they were obviously bored children and just wanted to pass the time by harassing us. Sure enough we happened to have plates on our APC (9 total) to make it look good more than anything (I was told by a mod that this was fine) only one person before these disruptive brats pretending to be valuable cops told us it MIGHT not be smart to have plates on the car because we risked it being blown up. These kids called a mod specifically to both waste our time and hopefully blow our vehicle up so they could be entertained. The whole while I'm sitting behind my computer screen steaming like a tea pot thinking "I just got unbanned. Is it worth it to tell these cops off and do the same to the mod in the area?" I have serious anger issues so I try to avoid conflict. Problem is the terrible police brought the conflict TO ME. I couldn't avoid what followed me, especially when I had an APC to care for.

These cops were simply bored and took every step to be as disruptive to my play time as possible because they were children.

The police force is diluted by brats who get bored halfway through their nightly jobs. This right here is a rule that must be implemented to prevent little shits from ruining a random dude (Or dudettes) playtime.

You can't argue this was them doing their job, this was disruptive police ruining my play time because they were bored and had everything on their side. They practically used k9 units to sniff every inch of our person's or vehicle for any tiny little shred of evidence to get us into more trouble. They thought we had 8 plates on our car but went absolutely ape shit crazy when the number rose to 9, as if one plate was enough to blow up the server.

This is terrible and I refuse to let it happen within the SO as the Undersheriff. You had best deal with this in your police force or soon you will be obsolete.
