Ehm, if trees were updated to be thinner, no one is going to see them inside a tree unless they're game hasn't been updated, and you cant get on a server that isn't on the same version of game as you.

What he's saying is that people have a choice to choose either the old trees (the thick trees) or the new trees (the thinner ones). But no matter what the person chooses for the graphics option, the hitboxes of the trees are that of the thinner one,so for people that use the newer trees, a player might look like they are pressed up against a tree, but if they are using the less resource intensive option, that same player would appear to be inside the tree.
