So recently the server went down I think and for some reason I can log on and then talk for a little bit but then I lose connection and barely anyone is on if not 1 its 0 so what's going on?

The steam servers are down, this is nothing from our part. You have not been banned, this is an ongoing problems to a lot of servers.

Is it because of Christmas?

I do not know, but servers are back up so you should be able to join.
