- Pvp Guide For Noobs
- Always carry a secondary weapon. It is much faster to switch to another weapon than to reload your primary. This is infact what the secondary/pistol is for to begin with. I prefer to carry something like Sabertooth/Peacemaker
- Stay outside of a town you are going to enter and circle the entire thing before proceeding into the town. This gives you greater coverage as line of sight allowing you to spot enemies much more frequently. "Clearing" is essential to doing anything without being shot in the back.
- When you engage a target always keep an object between you and the opponent to block the line of sight. By going from tree to tree for example you can close a great deal of ground without the player aware that you have left the first spot of engagement. There is also a side effect of surprise in that once you are in Close Combat distance the player basically panics and then calls you a hacker for "speeding" at them. This works very consistently.
- Always have a teammate or some kind of plan B to cover you. Always try to find like minded players and build a connection with them. Playing survival games like this always has a bit of roleplaying involved to survive the political aspect of warring tribes.
- Take a day or two to learn the main areas of the map. Map awareness is a monumental advantage to those who have no idea where they are.
- Always try to flank a player in a firefight. This works very well vs players above you on hills. If you see someone engage you from ahead back off and lose sight of them. Now sneak around the area they were last at in a big half circle. You want to get behind the place you saw them without them seeing you. Once you are at that point if you have not yet seen the enemy proceed to head backwards to where you were first standing when the engagement begun. Doing this will 90% of the time give you a good kill shot to the other players back while they are still looking for you in the original spot. Master this tool and you can kill squads of 3+ alone with the right weapons.
- Learn from your deaths instead of cursing at them. All of the good players in this game have gotten themselves by trial and error. You get back on the battlefield and understand what you did right, what you did wrong, and what you can change for the next battle. Surviving in a game like this requires a bit of internal automation to be created so you do the same positive move every time instead of making panic decisions. Once you learn to push through that mouse clenching "oh crap" moment you can then make moves and win the fight every time.
- Always place a bedroll down before entering a area if you can. This saves you in a lot of cases because you can keep coming back.
- Understand when a fight is no longer worth it, if you keep dying from the same person at the same location and you keep buying weapons even if you are killing them a bit one of those times you kill him you should just run and take whatever loot you have.
- Avoid players as much as possible unless you want to pvp and think you're prepared
- to find a hiding spot you like, like a place in every town you want to run to if people are shooting at you
- Do not underestimate melee power. Two shots with a butterfly knife to the head is an instant kill and since they are pretty common you need to be prepared. If someone starts to rush you with a melee weapon keep sight but hide behind objects. Once you get distance take them out.
- Do not underestimate cars. At a decent speed its an instant kill. If the driver is smart and is in third person while driving they can VERY easily see people to run down. Instead of trying to strength your way through it, try to find a building or hide behind a tree. Start shooting at the car until the person panics and gets out or until it explodes. Just make sure you don't get run over.
