Statue of limitations

So, irl police have a thing called statue of limitations which basically says ‘If a crime was committed X amount of years/months ago they can’t be prosecuted so I wonder how long the statue of limitations is here

Usually if someone commits a crime like murdering police or what not after 5- 10 mins you've taken to long to arrest them
