Hello again ladies and gentlemen (And those that are both) I was looking through the "Dead roles" and tried to think about how they could be resurrected and this old plugin came to my mind, here's how it functions:

- Grab one wheat / carrot (Depending on what animal you are trying to breed and depending on what Mushy / Miku would configure as the food type that the animals would breed from, they can choose anything such as lettuce, potatoes etc.) and walk towards your chosen animal, upon being near the animal you will notice that because you are holding your mighty wheat / carrot in your hand the animal starts following you allowing you to move the animal wherever you wish (In your farm probably). Upon having 2 of the same animal type near eachother you will drop the mighty wheat or whatever food breeds that certain animal and you will notice they start making sweet loving to eachother, to where a baby then pops out of them, congratulations you just witnessed mother nature at its best. This will allow you to make as big of a farm as you wanted with whatever animals you want and then murder them for their meat / leather which you can then sell and make money. This alongside selling your crops will make farmers even better than drug dealers, and it's LEGAL! I think.. anywho! I personally believe allowing farmers to have an animal farm will have a heavy impact on how many people will decide to be a farmer due to the fun of it and the money.

Now let's get technical before people start shouting "This can be abuseddd!", Mushy / Miku will be able to configure how many minutes until breeding can happen again making sure these animals have a rest and are not abused whilst also being able to configure things such as the distance that the animals will start following you from upon having food in your hand, the type of food needed for that certain animal to follow you and the type of food required for them to breed and so on. This plugin can be heavily modified to your liking especially with Mushy's amazing coding experience, now let's get to the changes that this plugin will require to the servers.

1. A Law will have to be added (Or maybe a rule even) giving farmers protection from having their animals murdered by civilians as this can cause a lot of issues.

2. Campfires might have to be unrestricted for the farmers to be allowed to cook the meat received from murdering their animals (Or allow the ovens to be purchased by farmers)

3. A "Save the animals" plugin will have to be added on the server alongside the breeding animals plugin to ensure the animals will be saved on the server so they don't magically dissapear upon server restart. (There is one already out there for free to download so no worries there)

4. Perhaps a /respawn animals command to use for supermods / admins to use if somehow all the animals are dead and the farmers are unable to find any.

5. Allow the farmers to be able to sell ALL of the loot received from the animals.

6. Lower the sell prices of the loot received from the animals to ensure farmers don't become too OP although still receive a lot if the player created an amazing farm.

7. Perhaps think about lowering the crops prices back to what it used to be before (As the crops sell prices were increased recently) to balance the role out as we don't want them to receive way too much money from farming.

And that should be it, the breeding plugin was already created although I will not be posting the plugin link so I don't get slapped for advertising although Mushy / Miku know well where to find it. This plugin is brilliant and will be awesome to use on the RP servers especially that all the donators have a donator farmer role with no use currently because of how dead the farmer role is, this change will bring a heckton of players to this role with no doubt due to the amount of money that you will be able to achieve from this. I'm more than happy to assist you Mushy / Miku with deciding on the breeding cooldown time, distance until the animals start following you upon having food in your hand, what food types required for breeding for different animals, sell prices of the animal loot and so on, if needed of course.

YES PLEASE. This could bring people to the farmer and maybe chef role which is much needed. The most common role found are Police related, Criminal related, Weaponsmiths and Mechanics. It would be nice to see more unused roles such as Farmer and the Chef be used and have more to do then just harvesting crops.

Good idea but this isn’t minecraft. Also sounds like a lot of lag with so much animals by eachother.

Nobody ever said it was, I've given valid points regarding the positives of using it in Unturned, whether you can do this in different games is not my interest, although yes this feature is well-known in minecraft. Well the point of breeding the animals is to kill the animals that were bred in order to gain $$$, so usually there shouldn't be too many animals alive and if there are, animals are very resource-friendly, I highly doubt they'd cause any lag although this can easily be stress-tested on a test server.

Although that video is kinda outdated as now you can breed any animals as long as they are configured (even custom animals), you can add a breeding success %, time until breeding is finished and so on.

There is already enough lag and enough plugins on the server.

As well as there being enough roles, and enough action for everyone to be entertained.

The animal plugin itself would cost a deal of lag, and saving the positions of all of the animals could cause lag and problems, eventually there would be tons of animals everywhere. People do not hunt animals too much.

Fair enough although I highly disagree with the lag part, the animals do not require as many resources as something like a placeable flare / light would. Plus it takes like a shot to kill one, worst comes to worst people kill them (*Cough* hunters *cough*) plus as stated breeding chance can be set alongside the breeding cooldown and time until breeding is completed which both can be increased to ensure this doesn't get out of hand. And you say there are enough roles but how many of these are actually being played, it's all about police / bandits and weaponsmiths usually, I guarantee that if this idea was to have a poll the community would heavily agree on it. Although I do agree it isn't really required, it was just an idea to try to bring other roles into play instead of being stuck with the same roles. Plus this idea can be built around as well; zoo's will be created requesting bamboo for entry further motivating CEO players to hire farmers, people will start becoming farmers themselves to have the ability to receive a lot of money for creating something that is fun and won't require constant anger and pvping that you get from the mainstream roles, farmers would be selling their animals to other farmers to allow them to start their farms and maybe even sell them to players that wish to have some company I mean I can already see people being like "Selling cow for 150 bamboo, have your own amazing animal!" in the chat lol. And I mean who doesn't want to see some random guy with a farmer hat move around seattle with a carrot in their hand trying to lure a baby pig to their farm lol, either way it might be some work although having this feature will open so many different doors to RPing. Also the part to where you said saving the animals would lag the server confuses me as the plugin works around the current /Save command which is automatically done on all the servers, I mean if it can save 10,000 elements on the map without causing any spikes I doubt 30+ more elements would cause any difference, it'd simply save the animals position upon the automatic save command being executed, no continous position checking like the regions plugin uses.

Comon Rag, that's a cheap shot :P. You were admin long enough to know that pretty much any suggested idea that sounds cool gains tremendous player support almost instantly. Community support for Russia RP, Hawaii RP, mods on #13, and an endless list of failed ideas were voted in purely out of hype. We can't take a potential poll result as a guaranteed success story. In one hand, the players want extra features and our goal is to hear them out. In the other, technical issues and game-mechanics must also be taken into consideration.

We'd have entire zoos too? I'm thinking potential lag issues. How many animals are there to exhibit at the zoo? I wonder if it would be a viable business for CEOs, as the zoos could become abandoned due to a lack of demand for animal-sighting.

We usually hear complaints about farmers not making a decent amount of Bamboo off crops alone. With animal farms, which valuable items would farmers be able to sell or craft+sell? (Items in actual demand, not stuff like eggs and leather)

A market for buying and selling the actual animals could exist, although the animals would need to have an inherent value to them. If a farmer creates more animals and sells them to a second farmer, who in turn sells more to a third farmer, the true value of the animals would be null unless they serve a meaningful purpose in game.

I'm sure me and everyone else would really like to witness such scenarios, as they're very fitting for RP. However, it would still be important to discuss the what the animals are worth/used for in a realistic RP scenario. We would only be able to witness such events if farmers have an reasonable incentive to farm animals.

I tend to think we'd have a LOT more than 30+ animals in a map. The amount of plots and planters we have on both servers is crazy high, since they all want to maximize their harvest and profits. These plots and planters stay on the map after the farmers log off, meaning we have a lot more farms on the map than you would expect if the servers were to have a permanent total playerbase of 24 people.

Rendering concentrated amounts of plots and planters is known to cause lag. I'm thinking these animals would be no different; they would still need to be rendered and they would all be close together. While we want farmers to find a purpose to farming animals, the more incentive we give them to do so, the more of an issue farms could become. As for saving the map with tons of animals in it causing lag, I don't t believe this would be something to worry about. IMO the only true way of knowing whether this mod would be viable is by messing with it in a closed environment and slowly expanding it to test its limits.
