Roleplay Role Readjustments (RRR)

Hey there, Mushy and I have recently been discussing about the unused roles which are Constructors, Armoursmiths, Explosive experts and Uber drivers.

Possible change ideas:

Armoursmiths:
  • All roles would be able to buy casual clothes and ones associated with their roles. Mechanics for example can buy their outfits but not police uniforms.

Explosive experts:
  • Remove the Explosives Expert role and explosives from the shop, apart from precision charges which would only be available to Police Captains.

Uber Driver
  • Remove or rework according to your suggestions. Most roles can already buy cars and mechanics are usually online.

Note: You may select up to THREE options in the poll.

If we get rid of Armorsmith, how will we buy the less common (but popular) clothing items e.g. Biohazard sets, Greece/Forest military sets?

Mushy and I have decided that weaponsmiths would be able to buy armour as they are more commonly used and everyone will be able to buy biohazard suits.

I think Uber driver really should be removed, or at least given some other functionality.
Due to the existence of /tpa *cough* shameless plug http://pandahut.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=20603 *cough* it pretty much makes Uber driver useless. I haven't seen any in the wild. At the moment I can't really think of any ways to make this role useful. There's a good possibility that it will be removed and replaced with something that people will actually used in the near future, hopefully.
As for the other things, I totally agree. I think explosives altogether should be banned (please don't hate me), especially the rocket launcher as you can destroy the entire server with the thing. And the armoursmith role isn't a common one either, so I think allowing players to buy their own clothes would be a better system.

Explosives experts have a very small role to people and especially if they can only sell frags to civilians.

I strongly disagree with the removal of the explosives expert role.
I feel it should be time-gated, able to raid assist like Doctors can, and should be able to use charges (touched on in this http://pandahut.net/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 38#p119538 , which noone payed attention to :c )
Police having exclusive access to explosive charges is absurd, especially considering how they present no more danger of false raiding than does a weaponsmith. In fact, a weaponsmith is arguably worse since they could more readily keep raiding by selling weapons and buying ammo.

If I was captain, I could easily plant down a bunch of charges around the map and blow them up. No one can know that it was you. And false raiding with charges is still pretty bad. Charges make for a great griefing tool. Maybe if you can only use them in raids by any role then they COULD be good, but that still leaves room for grief. Charges should only be given to the most trustworthy of people. Captains go through a lot to get where they are.
