So this Might already be addressed, but I didn't see any one else have this so yolo.

Lawyer Role

Things about this role:
Who Can have it: MVP and above
What it can do: The lawyer role will be able to help people while being detained, E.X: You arrested some one for 15 berries and the jail time is 15-30 mins, the lawyer's job is to do a new command (if thats not impoosible) it would be something like /case (player name) (crime) (cost, must be lower then bail cost) , this command would open a case on this player, (the player would need to do /case accept, paying the lawyer and opening a case) a case would be addressed between the cop and the lawyer.
Why we need this: If you get arrested for 30 berries, and are in jail for 30 mins or more, your chances of logging, having to go, and or the officer has to go is high, so this would help bring down sentences on players.

Full Example

I just called a arrest on Mattcobra for 19 berries.
"Mattcobra is under arrest for 19 mins, or a bail for 1900" says Mellon
"Not on my watch" says lawyer
'lawyer does /case Mattcobra 19-berries 500 (500 is cheaper then 1900, so Matt would do /case accept or /case deny if he wants to serve his time or has no money)
Now the lawyer would talk about why the accused should have a shortend sentence.
and then do /case over
"The new time is 5 mins with a bail of 500 instead of 19 mins" says Mellon

Edit by Mushy: As Pleblo mentioned in his reply, this idea wouldn't be complete without a Judge role, for which we already have the commands added in. We'll work on adding the Lawyer and Judge roles, along with the Bank heist idea, and a criminal record command to do background checks (for arrests) on players. See my reply to this topic for more info. Please be patient as this all still needs to be discussed with Pleblo and a lot of additions and changes to the to the RP Rules will need to be made.

So would the Lawyer ALWAYS get the accused a shorter sentence? Or does the Lawyer have to always negotiate with the officers until they come to an agreement? I think this is good but maybe it’d be better if the Lawyer was like the body guard and defended a single person.

If the lawyer fails to lower the case, the sentence goes on as planned, if not extended, it's a high risk for a possible high reward. E.x pay (???) amount and have a chance to not be in jail for (???) mins or pay bail/wait it out

-1 Tbh the Lawyer role was added a year ago with the exact explanation of it...it didn't work and nobody used it whatsoever thus was removed 2 and a half weeks later after it was added. I don't think it will probably be used again if it was brought back. And players usually get arrested and shortly after are killed or the player kills the police that is arresting them which would make the lawyer role useless.

I don't think it will probably be used again if it was brought back. And players usually get arrested and shortly after are killed or the player kills the police that is arresting them which would make the lawyer role useless.

They role might of been a thing before, but tell me, as a chief my self, I HATE waiting on people who have long sentences, a lawyer would be helpful, in the end, it just boosts the RP experience, even if no one picks it, like the farmer, doctor, constructor, and etc

That is true. If somebody has a 20 minute jail time, we have to just sit there for 20 minutes doing nothing. If there was a lawyer role, then we would be roleplaying instead of just sitting there.
