You used to get 500 bamboo to start out with. Now you get 5000. That’s enough for food, water, base, car and a gun. Putting in the work for bamboo can be a grind. It doesn’t just come to you as a new player.

I don't believe this is a good idea, and this is why:

When new players join, they are greeted to many things. New rules, new people, etc. In the situation that they know the rules, or basic ones, they still don't know the community.
If they are in need in something, i.e a car or some food, they will ask people or try to find it themselves.
When they try and ask people, they will engage in the community, therefore improving their experience.
If they search for food, they will see the vast amount of player activity, and also get a positive experience.

It's always better to give the fishing rod than the fish.
