Hello guys!

It occurred on me over the past few days that not many topics are on how to moderate on the forums and when I because super I basically can across it on accident, there for I feel making a guide will clear a few more things up. First I do have to state you must be of the rank RP SuperMod before you start to lock, move and or deal with player reports. But it is highly recommended that staff not of this rank comment, or provide logs assistance or generally give a helping hand.

Ban Appeals and Player Reports are to be done of a high standard and finished as quickly as possible, if any RP Moderators or RP TrialMods see any appeals or reports that haven't had a comment in at least two (2) then we recommend you ask a RP SuperMod to go deal with it.

If anyone has not been unbanned from an ACCEPTED ban appeal you must ask them for their steamprofile URL, as some people provide the wrong steam64ID's on their appeals. If they have provided the wrong steam64ID on their appeals tell them their correct steam64ID, hopefully the same mistake isn't made again by them.

Part One - Dealing With an Appeal

(BlahBlahBlah hope you don't mind me using yours)
First of an appeal like this

has been submitted. As read below the player has said a potentially racist word on the server and it goes against the Global Pandahut rules of Racism, as done accordingly the mod has banned him but as you can see here

the mod failed to explain why he was being banned or taking him to a mod situation. The mod who banned him should be notified as soon as the appeal goes live so that both sides and tell what has happened.

Part 2 - Moderating an Appeal

Logs of an appeal: As seen here are the logs of what has happened

notice: when locking a topic this doesn't come up there for you must look at the appeals logs to see who locked it. Tip: You can look at who has edited posts, moved or locked the topic via "moderate", "quick-mod-tools" and then by clicking "view-logs".

Accepting and or Declining an Appeal: You must make a comment whether the appeal is accepted and or declined as seen here

in the post you may list if you are going to talk to the moderator about this and possibly lead this to higher ups if there is strong evidence provided.

Moderating an Appeal: To moderate an appeal you click the "moderate" button

Next you want to move the topic to the selected area as seen above the topic was Accepted there for you will have to click "Move Topic" (In the Quick Mod Tools drop-down as done before

[/size] and click what ever it has been set to e.g Accepted or Declined and then if it is in the right place click "yes". Noticeplease watch where you are moving it to as it can easily be not done correctly, also please note that smaller phones may not be able to do this as it usually uses the computer browser. From there you should be good as gold! Congratulations on your first appeal!

Part One - Dealing With a Player Report

If it is an appeal reporting a staff member that staff member must reply with their comment and what happened from their perspective, if the moderator is servery in the wrong ( abuse / mass no sits etc ) then it should be reported to a RP Admin as soon as possible to prohibit him from damaging the server even more. Once a report is submitted you must notify the staff member any way you can, if this be via steam, discord or the forums it's self with the link of the reply, it would be greatly appropriated if they reply within 12 hours to prohibit the report being there too long. If the report is against the player you must have proof that it was unfair, if they do not include proof the report is invalid.

Part 2 - Moderating a Report

Banning or Talking to the staff member: You must make a comment whether the report is a ban-able offense, is irreverent or is reporting a staff member who will be talked to

Notice please watch where you are moving it to as it can easily be not done correctly, also please note that smaller phones may not be able to do this as it usually uses the computer browser. From there you should be good as gold! Congratulations on your first report!

Conclusion

It is recommended that 2 RP SuperMods deal with Player Reports and Ban Appeals at the same time as often one (1) Mod dealing with them all can overload him/her. Players and Mods greatly appropriate your work!
