I'm going to be honest, I have been false arrested (and subsequently KOSed) so many times by newbie police officers that don't know how to do their jobs. I have also been asked so many times by other newbie police officers to sell them police vehicles (even though I have repeatedly told them that it's out of my jurisdiction). Finally, I have been asked repeatedly for the command to buy the Sheriff's police sedan (so many times, I practically memorized it. /buy v.5717), then subsequently blamed when they mistype the command. Because of this, +1.
That being said, if the police role doesn't become whitelisted, at least set up a "Police Boot Camp" training program (where new police officers must be taught their role a la military RP servers in order to become a full officer) or an internship program (new police officers must shadow or be partnered with more experienced police officers for a certain amount of time), so that new players don't end up fucking other people over just because the newbie thought picking "police" gave them a free ticket to stick up other people.
Yeah, sure, both systems might be hard to implement, but at least other people on the servers would definitely benefit from any of these changes.
TL;DR: Been fucked over by newbie police too many times. +1. If this does not get implemented, set up a training/internship program.

We scream "Power to the people, power to the people
Power to the people" (until that power corrupts)
We scream "The system stay evil, the system stay evil, man
Them systems are evil" (until it benefits us)
They tell me "Give to the poor, give money to the poor"
Tell me "Give to the poor" (First I gotta make a little more)
They screamin' peace over war, there's peace over war
