Just learn from Tiillo he got raided like that once and made a better apartment. He made 4-5 1x1x2 buildings like a floor lenth a part (not connected) and they had to be raided separately.

not really 4 1x1x2 buildings equal a 4x4x2 (4x4x3 being the max). So you could actually make 4 1x1x3 apartments.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, allowing raiders to raid entire apartments at one time absolutely destroys RP. The community I had in the garage station had 23 people in it, and all 23 of those were raided en mass by one player. I can tell you right now that all 23 of those people were enjoying the RP that came out of living in a neighborhood of sorts, and that it had a massive positive effect on 'life RP' in the server.. I am infuriated by the fact that nothing has been added to the rules to fix this problem, and in my opinion is just because the people that can make this change prefer to enjoy themselves than to improve RP for the rest of players.

In regards to, what TastyMelon said about it becoming a megabase and causing to much lag; if anything it would just reduce lag, because as we can see from the 23 player community I started, there were much fewer structures than there would have been if so those players had their own, seperate bases.

Let’s look at it like this. Since no one is,

If you can only raid one level/room in an apartment normal bases become irrelevant and people making apartments make huge amounts of money thus flowing our money into one set of people. Or we all live without a home and only carry limited stuff forcing people away from bandit.

Now that we see why that’s bad.

If we make it one level people will flow to a higher floor level or middle and thus making bottom floors irrelevant. If it was my choice and I could raid the full level I’d turn it into a sky base thus making it an illegal base. I have done this before to large bases and they get wrecked for that exact reason. All the people living in it lose their loot if it’s man made.

If it is one level one person raiding can take over the entire floor and make it their own if they clear every single object set by another person.
You can not just assume that the community will just start using apartments instead of their own, separate bases. The more wealthy would definitely be able to build their own bases, but for the less wealthy, this is a good alternative to blowing their entire balance on a building of their own. Sure, some players would start using apartments, but I can tell you right now that it would have a positive effect on the servers instead of a negative. If a bunch of players take a 1x1 or a 1x2 instead of having their own 3x2x2 or something like that, then the amount of lag on the server would drop dramatically, and possibly even solve the whole "lag line" epidemic!

Then when you say that bandits will just destroy the bottom floor of the apartment structure to get it wiped, that is to an effect trolling! If an admin were to stumble across a large base where this happened, I would assume that they are smart enough to understand and place a sign there letting the builder know to fix it before anything further were to occur.

I definitely say yes to this (keep raiding to “per floor” as Tillo explains how It can ruin RP. The uncensored truth is that the only people who say no to this happening are the bandits of the server who selfishly care so much about self gain that they will do it at the cost of ruining many peoples day. Now I know raiding and such are a fun part of RP but doing these “mass raids” tips the scale to far for more harm then good.

Anyways,

Building megastructures all in a confined area will actually REDUCE lag-lines. Let me explain:
Unturned loads everything in “chunks” there are 2 main categories of them, Landmarks/large buildings which are cover large areas in low detail and barely take up and ram from the hosting server. Yes manmade structures do take up some ram but this is not the catagory we’re after. We are after the details/small objects/man made objects catagory. These chunks are a lot smaller compared to the other catagory.. they house the small objects and all of the fine details to the map. The way they work is by the larger chunks saying “hey, a player just walked into this large chunk, you need to load all the smaller ones inside the large chunk. When there are a lot of bases inside the large chunk, it takes a long time to load as there is a lot more data stored creating the horrible things called “lag-lines.” The reason I say that densely building in a confined space will first be because a lot of people would be in the large chunk ex: “hey small chunks, a player just walked in to this bigger chunk and you need to load” “no we don’t tere is allready another player in this large chunk” Although there will still be a small “lag-line” from the chunks comminicating, It will be almost unnoticeable compared to waiting around 2-4 seconds for all of it to load. Secondly, If a player is in an area that has fewer amount of structures in it from people moving to an apartments, It won’t take as long to load.

The only con would be loss of FPS from all of the small detailed chunks combined having so much info sent to the player.

You guys think this logic could be applied to malls? Thus only 1 store is raided instead of the entirety of the mall being wiped?

A mod told me that this allready applies to premade structures (by floor)
