I have been thinking about this concept for a while and especially with the most recent elections I feel the following should be added as a safeguard.
The idea is that the candidates running for mayor would choose a running mate or pick a Vice Mayor as some have already implemented. The reason in choosing a running mate is that if the mayor by any chance has to leave for the rest of the term, the running mate will step up to the job rather than the opposing party (2nd highest votes). Also with this hopefully cut out any 2nd elections that has to happen in order to fill in the vacancy. Also it makes more sense considering even in the real world if the current leader is unable to perform their duty, the leadership isn't just handed over to the opposing party but rather filled in by some else from the same party. Now if a Mayor is found to be guilty of corruption then it makes sense to have the party removed from the position as it plausible that the rest of the cabinet could of been involved. I would love to go into little more details about the what ifs and so one but I rather not get too much into the idea until I know that people and RP staff team are interested.
