So is the server is going to be wiped when the plug-in is added?
And well me get at least a 2 day notice.
There's no scheduled wipe, we don't need to wipe the server when a plugin gets added lol.

Guys after discussing this idea further with Ragna and Miku we realized things won't be as simple as we thought.

The current speeding plugin we have needs to have a proper ticket-issuing system accessible by police roles, and we need to think about players that have no Bamboo, at which point a Judge or high ranking player would need to intervene. We'll continue work on this plugin and let you guys know when it's ready.

If player has no bamboo=Preset Jail Time, * by how my mph over the speed limit.

Would be nice but I can see how most thing's are hard to code.

To reiterate the current idea, the plugin as it stands works in the following way:
  • As soon as a non-police player goes above the set speed limit:
    • If you are going above the map's set speed limit, a traffic ticket warrant is issued against you.
    • Upon being issued the ticket, the driver receives the message: "The police have been notified of your traffic violations. Look out!"
    • All police radio enabled roles are notified, for example: "[DISPATCH]: Miku was caught speeding in a a Black Roadster! Ticket valid for 120 seconds!"
  • All staff on duty caught speeding will not be reported to authorities for speeding.
  • Traffic warrants expire after a set amount of time.
A few changes to the idea have been made in order to better adapt this idea to our current RP system:
  • The speeding offense system will work as a list accessible by law enforcement, which shows a list of all players that are online and have outstanding violations
  • The punishment or fine for all speeding tickets will vary on the speed registered as well as police and possible moderator discretion. The point of adding speed violations is not to drive players bankrupt or cause harm, but simple to add more fun gameplay elements to RP.
Some feature changes were made to the plugin to accomodate the changes lsited above:
  • Added a minimum distance from the player in order to use /rob, /arrest, /kinap, and /ticket.
  • Added a new command called /ticket [player] [reason] for law-enforcement. This command announces in world chat that the specified player has been punished for their violations as well as the any reasoning behind it.
  • Added /crimes command for law enforcement roles. This command shows the Player Name, Speed at which they were caught driving, and how long until the Warrant expires
  • The speed shown for each offender under the /crimes list is updated if the player goes above their previous recorded speed. This is to help cops in figuring out an appropriate fine amount/jail time/etc.
  • Added /removedriver [player] for staff to remove erroneous speeding tickets/offenses
  • Adjustable settings without a restart: Max allowed Speed Limit, Speeding Infraction Expiration Time, an Minimum distance from the target player in order to use /rob, /arrest, /kinap, and /ticket.

I love how I'm the first person to bring this up. 5 months later its added.

1 slight mishap, what about planes and helis? they often go faster than 100mph. It would be basically impossible to fly without being wanted

Also, this plugin would be SOO much better if you could shoot out tires. This way, you don't have to wait until
A: You / They run out of gas
B: Their car is so damaged it blows up
C: You shoot down and kill the driver
D: They stop

Basically There's no speed restrictions to Air vehicles. However in real life the charts which pilots use,Both commercial and private shows restricted areas where speed and altitude are restricted like Military zones where it is mentioned that fly above 10000ft and above 250 knots.

I feel like this could be easily abused as for players being assigned tickets over and over and over.
Maybe chief and up should have this only with a 15-30minute cooldown.

Slight correction guys.

What I stated earlier
  • Upon being banned from driving, the driver receives the message: "The police have been notified of your traffic violations. Look out!"
What I meant to say
  • Upon being issued the ticket, the driver receives the message: "The police have been notified of your traffic violations. Look out!"

Other Notes
  • You can continue driving after you speed, but the cops will be on the lookout for you, and if caught you must negotiate the punishment for the offense with the cops.
  • The Judge or Mayor may get involved in the case if necessary.
  • A lot of people have asked what the max speed limit will be. This is something that we can adjust until we find a proper speed limit that most players agree upon. We were thinking of a speed slightly above or around the fastest vehicle's max speed limit, so that the speeding tickets have some logic associated to them, and so not all players that drive a vehicle end up with a speeding ticket every time.
  • Speeding offenses apply to land vehicles only. Players will not receive speeding tickets while piloting aircraft or riding sea vehicles.
  • The speeding ticket is issued to the driver of the vehicle. The passengers should be let free by the cops unless they're into shady business ;-)
