As far as I know and most likely we CANNOT just STOP them from cutting down trees. Phyically impossible to detect when a tree is being damaged and negate it.

Hell no. I'm a cop and I plan to cut trees down if I want too.

This is stupid and doesn't need to be any sort of rule. It's not like you just randomly see people cutting down every tree in the map. Nobody will follow this rule least of all me. So don't try to force a petty rule on me like this.

Okay so lets get this straight, I was asking for people to get fined for cutting down a tree and a small jail time (like 5 min). It would be fine if there was like a 10 bamboo fine for cutting a tree down without a permit, but I was more thinking having the idea for Law Enforcement to be able to do /checkplayer and see if theta person has a permit to chop tree's. You would also be able to buy a permit, for let's say 500 bamboo for 7 days, and it would be cheaper then cutting down trees without a permit, meaning that you would have to buy a permit before you go and randomly chop trees down for no reason.

Also to add on the fact that there are not as much trees on the PEI/Washington maps and there is usually some cops patrolling and would spot a tree-cutter and would have them be arrested if they don't have a permit and they are cutting trees. To detect if someone is hurting trees, it means that they are using a car no-where near roads and running trees over or they are using melee (and/or guns) to chop trees down.

Do not threaten to break rules. It will not end well. If this does become a thing it would most likely be a small fee/fine removed from your account if you broke trees without a Lumberer's License.

So wait. Let me see if I understand this.

It's going to be against Server RULES to cut down a tree to build a base? Even if the tree cutter picks up the sticks and everything cutting down trees will be against the Rules to a point where you are fined for it?

Even if it is only against the RP laws this would only server to hurt the community. Think about it. This will flesh out the rules/laws but at what cost? The freedom to build? Why make farming trees illegal? They don't produce bamboo, they give experience, you can make many things from them, and they lag.

Would it not be smarter to limit places where you can build rather than limit how you obtain your building materials?

Even if this does fine me when the zombies come back I can farm zombies for my bamboo back. You will barely punish people for a crime that doesn't count as a crime.
