Absolutely not.
1.) 7/10 times the arrested will resist, and police will have to resort to lethal means in order to protect themselves and the civilians around them.
2.) Due to the server player limit, it is extremely unlikely that we will have a Judge on when we need one, leaving RCMP in the dust when it comes time to book the accused.
3.) Making RCMP constantly have to acquire and maintain evidence is a ridiculous requirement, and I did not see any way for us to actually acquire said evidence with which to protect ourselves.
4.) Police brutality is an impossibility since if we hit a prisoner it's considered attempted KOS.
5.) Players already do absolutely everything they can to make arresting them as difficult as they can. Implementation of this will mean an avalanche of lawsuits for every imaginable reason, especially if they succeed.
6.) What do we do with the arrested in the meantime? Can we call /arrestover? Do we have to stay with the accused until the Judge, if online, is available?
7.) What 'actual' punishment will the Judge levy that RCMP cannot?
8.) It is already stressful enough calling an arrest, worrying that the accused will resist, let alone trying to read Miranda, or any other kind, of rights to them.
9.) What happens if someone sued doesn't browse the forums?
10.) Why not just give RCMP the /jail command?
11.) The accused are already brought to a safe place and provided with food and water.
12.) Jail sentences aren't long enough for players to wander around and talk to each other. The absolute most I have ever seen in jail, at any given time, was 2 players.
13.) Other players are already allowed visitation under armed supervision.
1.) Maybe join a Police Group so it doesnt?
2.) Seeing that most Judges who applied are either MVP+ or Staff they got a reserved slot.
3.) Eye witnesses.
4.) Verbal abuse?
5.) Lawsuits have to approved by the Judge
6.) RPHD Will take over arrest at Court House.
7.) A plugin. /jail meaning they wont be able to move.
8.) It is smart to arrest with multiple people.
9.) Then he adds a Judge on steam.
10.) Yes lets give it to a rank wich can easily abuse it.
11.) But we give massages.
12.) Then arrest more.
13.) Noted.
This entire thing was made up for RP Purposes.
Don't get me wrong Dutchy, I'm all about changes for RP purposes, but I honestly don't understand how this could improve RP for cops, or victims, as the current suggestion stands. That said, I also have no ways to improve upon on it.
1.) I am a part of PEPD, the largest on PEI. People resisting is their own volition, and they usually do it just to fight cops. I try to bring at least 3 cops to each arrest to prevent exactly this, and there's still a lot more resisting than compliance.
2.) I am aware of THREE captains of police, all of which are mods. I rarely see them online when I need them, let alone during constant arrests. Having one judge would be far worse. You'd literally need a judge every time there's an RCMP online, and that logically isn't feasible.
3.) "Eye-witnesses" are kind of a bogus evidence considering everyone who is a cop will be biased towards helping the cop, and everyone who isn't will be biased against them. We're already set up for failure in that system.
4.) Verbal abuse is considered player disrespect, and also a bannable offense.
5.) Okay, fair enough. Considering the judge has to be prior police, I can agree with this point.
6.) Alright, so RHPD is going to have a constant presence on 13 as well? What if there isn't any RHPD online? What happens then? And this is a very realistic possibility as I've been literally the only cop online multiple times.
7.) How is /jail different than putting them inside a safezoned cell? At least in the safezoned cell they can use a bed/couch etc.
8.) Yes, thank you. I'm very much aware, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still stressful trying to arrest someone. Cops already have to worry about proper warnings, interference from other civilians, crossfire from bandits if we're arresting one, the location of fellow officers, what the accused is being arrested for so if they drop it we can still charge them, and making sure the accused doesn't pull out a weapon and being killing innocents. My solution to this is they can be read their rights at the jail/courthouse/wherever, after we've removed them from the killzone.
9.) Or the Judge adds him? How will the judge know who to add? Players don't always have the same forum/steam name.
10.) Fantastic, I'm agreeable to giving it to higher ranks. Except a lot of times there isn't one online, and I apologize but I still don't see the point in a /jail command when we have a safezoned prison with multiple cells. How is this command different? How will it help us? What's wrong wit hthe current system that this command will improve upon?
11.) I'm honestly looking for an answer here.
12.) Being RCMP isn't about arresting people, just like being a mod isn't about banning people. It's about ensuring people are aware of, and follow, the law.
