FEBRUARY 3 - SDGNELSON
Vehicle Changes:

All vehicles now spawn with a battery. The battery charges while the engine is running, and drains down if the headlights/siren are left on with the engine off. If the battery runs out while driving the horn, headlights, taillights and sirens will stop working. If the battery is dead when entering the vehicle the ignition will not function. You can remove the battery in the vehicle context menu, and add one by using a replacement found at mechanics/gas stations.

Caltrops and weaponry now damage most wheeled vehicles' tires. Handling is significantly impacted by lack of wheels, but they can be replaced by attaching a new tire found at mechanics/gas stations.

So these patch notes caught my eye because of the ability to damage car tires to the point where they break, and the ability to steal a cars battery to disable the ignition. personally i like the "heavy survival" route Nelson is going for with Unturned but what's your guys' opinions?

I agree, verreh nice buff indeed. Can't wait to see how many more cars are gonna be stranded or used for roadblocks now, rather than the ALREADY 20-30 something every other 5 minutes you try to drive through major city points :laugh: But seriously though, love the battery idea and tires, would so work for disabling instead of blowing up. Opens the realm for whole new ideas and cool new ways to interract with those Uber Drivers or those who try to steal your vehicles and (*whispers* those who wanna steal vehicles easier) *coughs* as a citzen of rp servers this could make for a very refreshing turn of events...

I do not like this. For starters anyone with ambition and a sniper can pop you're tires at any time. Thus making you spend probaly alot of money on the tires. Plus also creating some people KOSing the wrong people. I frankly disagree. Why pandahut! Whyyyyyy! :crying:

alright so after some testing let me shed some light on the vehicle changes. the car tires for your average tier of car, ie roadster, ghost, racecar, and the offroader are all one hit with a 0% durability zub. this was tested on 23 where durability is used in the system. we havent tested the other vehicles atm. the tires are 26 bamboo in the shop, however when your down to 3 car tires, its not much of a difference but being lopsided. when you're down to 2 your handling decreases vastly. and when you're down to one the car is basically useless as its handling and speed are heavily reduced. when moving though the hitbox for the tires is... weird. as it seems bigger than it should be so in combat its a lot harder to hit the actual tires if the target is moving. the car battery thing seems to be more of a troll for teammates than an actual tactic in combat. seeing as i dont play rp, in pvp servers this is a heavy factor to take into account. that's all at the moment, ill get back when more testing is done.
