So in pandahut 10/13(the rp servers) elections take place once every month to elect a mayor. The mayor virtually does as he pleases with his funds and controls the police force entirely himself! I believe that this system is not working efficiently as i hardly see the mayor of 10/13 online! (i am cet so maybe he comes on in american time). The police force is also quite disorganised as i see it and successive mayors have failed to properly eliminate criminal networks! I believe the time has come for a change in the way washington/pei is governed and how the police force is controlled! I put forward the following points to both staff and players! I hope a serious debate ensues on this mater at the utmost urgency! I will also put a poll on this matter to see what you pandas think about this
The mayor will govern in close collaboration with other elected members to the government
I propose that apart from directly electing the mayor, citizens of Washington and Pei should have the opportunity to vote for political parties who put forward their ideas on government. Thus, depending on the number of votes each party attains, they will be allotted a certain number of representatives to hold the mayor to account! I propose around 4-7 representatives each being selected by a political party after the voting process. These political parties will be the voice of the people and will help ensure a greater sense of DEMOCRACY. I suggest they also have the ability to propose legislation and have votes on this matter but ultimately the mayor could veto such proposals! NB: These are my own personal suggestions but i feel free for you to have your own proposals as well
The ability for elected members of government to impeach the mayor on the basis of CORRUPTION
I do not know if any mayors have been corrupt but i feel that the addition of elected representatives will discourage corruption and allow more transparency! Citizens will also be informed by their representatives of any corruption allegations and will want justice to be done!
Finally i would like to say that this would boost RP!

About these elected officals/party's, would these be individual roles?
If so what would they be called?

Yes they may be a role such as "Politician" or "Council Member". They would debate new rules being enacted and proper legislation. The political parties would contest in elections to win seats. The more seats each party has, the more they can influence legislation and the way pei/washington is governed! They will also help influence the mayor's decisions. Each political party would promote itself on the forums and say what they plan to do if they are elected. I also think mayors should vouch behind a political party to get more things done in pandahut for the particular month! There would be an election every month just like the mayor election, but just with political parties being on a seperate ballot as well to be elected.

We need central police leadership in the Police to organise the governments lawenforcmenet too. (i have made a advanced 100% working system about this, in RP suggestion)

I already informed all of the community that I was going to be back this sunday, and I am mayor of #10, I think I have done great in my two terms and I am going to do a lot more better, but I like how we have the elections going, it is nice and simple.

The idea of this political system would actually ensure the mayor gets more done while in office however it also keeps check of the mayor and these elected officials would make sure the mayor delivers his promises! The mayor ideally should vouch for a political party/make an agreement with one where they would co-operate if elected to office!

i4sheep i wish you luck in continuing your final termas washington mayor! I strongly feel that i should run as mayor and make the next vote a sort of 'referendum' on whether citizens of washington want to continue with mayoral votes or create a new political system! As mayor i will try as much as possible to reform the system!
I shall be running on 10 and i may support a candidate who has similar views to mine on 13!
I hope all those who have the same idea as me VOTE FOR ME or one of THE CANDIDATES SUPPORTING THIS ISSUE. This next election will be a REFERENDUM on whether to continue and appease the traditional establishment or to establish a new democratic, open and transparent system of government.
I shall be organizing rallies in the days to come in preparation for the election!
