When on holiday I thought about a lot of things, new ideas such things as the PVE build server and this tweak/suggestion and what do you know, I have 14 hours on a plane to kill so YAY WOOHOO (kidding). Your all wondering hey that title has KOS in it and is in the suggestions - Roleplay servers, your brain should probably think it's for the Roleplay servers, well done if you did.

• Introduction

Lately and over the past few months the staffing problem has been average, some staff on at times some being quiet or on a break, fresh staff (Trial-Mods) have been few and far between if any. I have a few reasons for this and a possible fix to this as well.

The problem of KOS can be seen daily on the server sadly this is just what happens and staff have to get used to it, but the main problem is MASS KOS some which happens partly due to the staff, what the actual fuck are you saying Loxton it's our fault now!!?? Yes partly it is, now when a person joins the server they KOS the first person they see and steal his stuff, staff deal to it and maybe he will think better, but what happens if no staff are on, hey woopde do im away for their perfect gear and nobody can catch me.

• Why Getting New Staff is Important

Gaining new staff may be a hassle etc but it's better than using old and depleted resources, here's a example the 1st Military Division is on the front for 1 year as that year people are injured (Have a break in our terms) or Die (Resign) if new people aren't brought in those troops are going to have a dwindling morel.

Lets give this a situation lets say Kaz is the night moderator who has been on for 4 hours and has been the only mod on for that time, low morel probably dropping a few mistakes here and there and gets blamed for the request for help after he gets off and being inactive, makes you feel like shit doesn't it.

Fresh new Trial-Mod has been accepted just a week ago has made a few mistakes here and there but hey that's acceptable and usually small ones and easily fixable. He has two mates or buddies on with him giving him FREE TIME TO RP. He bans a KOSer and restores the KOSed . The KOSer returns after the ban and does it again, thanks to communication between the team they are able to see that this guy probably doesn't want to RP but rather wants to troll and waste time.

Now being 3 moderators on they are able to trample the thread BEFORE it occurs (e.g mass kosing). Kaz being the only mod on has been overloaded with situations whilst everyone screams at him for a restore.

• The Problem

The problem is the applications, I don't deal with them nor often comment there for take that into account. Over the past months application standards have slowly improved making less and less people want to apply, I'll give a example back when I was accepted they accepted any old player that was averaglerly good enough for the job. The chances of acceptance were 50/50 whilst now they are about 10/100. When I was first accepted I was called to a sit maybe every half a hour, now if I don't get called out in 10 minutes I feel like something has gone wrong.

I'll leave this here for you to decide. Maybe we should be more accepting?

With all due respect Lox, if the problem is the fact that application standards have improved, then would you suggest we purposely worsen them in order to solve the problem you mentioned?

With all due respect back I feel the RP staff have been suffering and suffering from extended periods of time moderating. Lets give an example for this, lets say you mushy were moderating for 4-5 alone and the longest time you had off-duty was 10 minutes then after those hours you call for other staff and take a break, not 15 minutes in to your break you look at the discord and yeah, two people are calling for mass Kosers on both the servers. New staff could have fixed that problem before it occurred or even helped you during that time moderating.

Maybe put a new system in place for applications;

Instantly declined (when you decide all the applications, no questions asked)

Instantly Accepted (when applications are decided ((reccomendation from at least 2 RP Admins? ))

debatable would include the interview of the sender, people are usually better at talking then writing, this is of course if they do have a microphone.

All respect, I was a mod till I was demoted for impulsive and irrational decisions. I do understand and respect that. I would try to apply again if I am given another chance. I have some observations. The staff are feeling like they don't have the chance to RP. Thats what I've gathered. I saw around 8 staff resign due to the fact they had to deal with KOS and other mishaps on RP and they just wanted to play. I would love to have another chance as staff (probably unlikely but yea).

Here is my opinion:
accept more staff can help improve the time they actually get to RP and have fun playing on the server they devote so much time and effort to. Being an admin on other servers I can see how being "on duty" for 4 hours strait every single day can be a huge pain in the ass along with dramatically decreasing your judgment on who should be banned and for how long. (I can even tell how long an admin has been on that day just from the way they talk and the amount of time they ban.) The most obvious way to improve this would to just be to get more staff right? Well not exactly. The problem with hiring a bunch of mods at the same time will cause the server to be kinda chaotic with admins incorrectly banning and the ban appeals being flooded with angry players. ALTHOUGH, if you are able to apply a lot more effort into training admins or just slightly allowing more people to be moderators, there play will be a good balance between being a moderator and having fun.

Review declined apps idk basicly the staff we have now just lie on ts or discord (not all of them but the most) and play sometihng else and when they are actually playing pandahut they block themselves so no one can tag/poke them *cough* slushy *cough*
