*This potentially belongs in suggestions, but since I want an opinion from the general community, I put it in General Topics.*
Hey guys, your friendly neighborhood Doses here. Got a question for you:
Do you think raids should have a time limit?
Here's a little context (Apologies I know this is long winded. I type too much
):
The reason I ask this is because yesterday around 11pm UTC -6, I logged on by the Alberton Police Department. My motorcycle had been blown up by an unknown assailant, so I decided to go walk around and see if another one owned by my group was around. I walked in front of one of the buildings in Alberton and was shot to death almost instantly by [806-E8] SournoisRenard. I was surprised at first, but I asked Sournois why I was killed and he said it was a raid zone, which made it a perfectly legal kill. Unfortunately, I logged in after the raid was called so I didn't know a raid was happening there. But I have no complaints, it was fair. However his raid went on for an excess of 20 minutes so the same thing that happened to me happened to several other passer byes: they were shot and they had no idea why which, as you can imagine, caused a lot of anger and rage in the chat.
Note* In no way am I blaming, accusing, or reporting Sournois of any wrong doing because he was in the right. He handled the situation well when several people came complaining to him and explained that it was a raid zone. I applaud his patience with the number of players calling him a dick and analogous terms because he killed them in a raid zone.
My opinion is that there should be a time limit on raids because of the potential for people to not know that a raid is happening and get shot without warning. It is impossible to get rid of them completely, but this time limit would help lower the number of deaths and angry players.
Most raids do not go longer than 15 minutes, so that would be my suggestion for the limit but I want to know what the community thinks. It's not imperative to me that a time limit be added, it's only a suggestion. I don't really care that much. I just want to decrease the number complaining players that say they got "shot unfairly". Thanks guys!
Too long, didn't read?
Long raids cause players who don't know the area is a raid zone to be killed. They get angry and it causes problems. To try to avoid this, should raids have a time limit? Yes or no and why. If a poll could be added, that would be great!
