i think thgis is possible? just to freeze the player for solid 3-5 seconds is enough, i think the only tazr existing mod is capable of killing, but this idea sounds lit

Oh yes cuz when I'm in an intense, high speed chase for the criminal I want to stop and take the time to type /taze into the chat. I know what you could say. "Just copy and paste it." You most likely already copied your first warning. Also, unless you had to be within a very small range and in a situation where you're arresting, this could be abused. And by this time, there would be more work done on this command than an actual tazer(probably.) You would also need to do /tazer (Player_Name) in case there were multiple arrests in that area. Good idea anyways though.

it could work in a way where its some gun that is ether a reskin or a new modded gun and it would do like /freeze command basically but with where they get cuffed and cant move more that 1 foot with out going back and then after like 3-7 sec (common taze length) then unfreezes the play uncuffs and lets them run. but if you do how ever land the hit and get them tazed then they are more likely to listen now your right there with guns to there head. also this could be a good buff to police because they cant shoot when you start to run they HAVE to chase so its now easyer for police to get criminals who are running. also the cuff is for the fact if its just /freeze then they could pull a gun a shoot

This falls under a few problems!
As you may know if you kill a player he drops everything he has and that means other players will have these tasers! This will be a huge problem since it doesn't kill people! Meaning people who like to troll can easily run and tase and run and tase and it will be extremely hard to know who it is since there is no visual proof unless he comes right infront of you and tases you.

This is mainly under trolling which is a bannable offence

Exactly my thoughts. Could insta cuff/uncuff so it puts their weapon away, and the freeze command so they can't move for a couple seconds, and we're allowed to taze without warnings to prevent people from running.

Yet it might only be for police chief and swat and above because this might be a huge trolling item

We can detect who kills someone with what weapon but I'm not sure about detecting if someone damaged someone with what weapon.
Furthermore, freeze is broken and I'm not sure if we could fix it or not. It'd seem pretty weird, all taser would do is make the person put away their weapon for a second. In theory, if we could detect who damaged who with what weapon we probably would be able to make it so only if you were a police member you could use the taser. (Well, if it did 0 damage, people could still fire it but only cops would make the person's weapon be put away).

I'm not sure how useful this is to RP though. Realistically it'd stun the person but in Unturned all they'd have to do is take out their weapon again. If we made it so they couldn't take out their weapon for x seconds I still think it'd be very weird overall and confusing for new players.

Overall, I think this would work great in a game like GTA V or any other game that lets the character ragdoll, but in Unturned it'd just be weird, confusing for new players and not useful if people were in groups. If there are 2+ people they could simply gun down the officer with the Taser as he tazes only one of them, assuming the Taser would have a believable cool down after firing. It could have to be pulled back like a timberwolf or just have one bullet in it like an RPG.

On a side note, we'd also have to get someone to make the Taser or get permission to edit a Taser mod/skin made by someone else.

Note: This is just what I think and not an official decision, as that'd be more up to what Dutchy thinks.
