Mikus point was that if you get more bamboo from killing people your less motivated to actually team up with people or spare them. While this idea of friendship and mercy seems far fetched on a pvp server it actually happens. Personally i have actually called out to people multiple times in the past mid gunfight and made friends. Just becasue its pvp doesn't mean you have to kill everyone you see. While pvp is enabled it's not the required.

There's such a thing as preference and raising the amount you get for killing someone can change that preference.

I don't think you understood Miku's point of view. In kitPVP, once a hit is placed on someone, people even aim spawn points to kill someone and get money. KitPVP economy has a security leak as people can abuse and kos/kill their friends. I think they want to encourage less unnecessary deaths for everyone in normal pvp and encourage more communication and team-play.
Secondly, before getting my rank I gathered 200K on my own just by hugging the feasts :-p player kill (0.69 bamboo / 150 bamboo) still not the best way to get money.

How about the PVP servers adopt a similar method to what has been done on RP servers?

You gain a amount based on how much you play INSTEAD of the kills you make. It will make players think twice about why they are killing the player, maybe he could become a friend in which he will most likely keep playing, maybe gaining more friends in a snowball effect. Now I do realize donors already have this perk etc. Something as simple as $150-200 every 30-60 minutes would probably be sufficient.

Adding higher kill reward such as $100 = Abusable
Enough said.
